As a client, you are responsible for

  • Informing me of any medications you may be taking and of your current health conditions. Contraindications with massage may hinder your current health conditions.

  • Paying prior to or on the same day the service is received.

  • NOT requesting sexual activity. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and your session will be terminated without a refund.

  • Unlike a typical Swedish massage, the use of gentle stretching of the skin with little to no oil in a lymphatic drainage promotes the movement of lymph fluid throughout the body. As a result, this can reduce swelling, increase relaxation and improve digestive flow in the body.

  • If you are receiving cupping or scraping, you must wear a sports bra and/or shorts. Otherwise, you may choose to wear as much clothing as you are comfortable with. You will be properly draped throughout the massage. If you are feeling insecure because of skin blemishes or excess fat, please know that you are in a safe space. I am here to help you feel better in your own body.

  • The darker and more apparent the circles are, the more stagnation or lack of blood flow there is in the blood of the affected area. The red marks are not bruises. Bruises are caused by traumatic impact and pressure put upon an area, but cupping marks are caused by the suction of a cup.

  • Contrary to the saying “No pain, no gain,” too much pain does not lead to gains. When you are receiving bodywork beyond your pain threshold, this may cause more damage than benefits to your muscle tissue. If you catch yourself having to hold your breath, then you need communicate with your therapist if you are feeling too much pain. It should be a “good hurt” kind of feeling.

  • Unless it is related to your current health condition or medical history, you are not required to talk during your massage. Do not feel pressured into thinking you need to talk the entire duration. Use this moment to relax and be in stillness.
